Terms of Use
The ground rules for using this site and the National Mammography Day campaign materials.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to nationalmammographyday.org (the “Site”), operated by Alliance for Health Implementation Science, Inc. (“AHIS,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site or its materials, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
2. Health information, not medical advice
The Site provides general information about mammograms and breast cancer screening for awareness and education. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare provider. Always talk with your provider about your own situation, including when to start screening and how often. If you think you or someone else is having a medical emergency, call 911.
Information on the Site is based on public sources such as the American Cancer Society, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Recommendations change over time; we work to keep the Site current but cannot guarantee it reflects the latest guidance at every moment.
3. Facility search
Facilities shown on the Site come from the FDA’s public database of certified mammography facilities. Listing a facility is not a recommendation of one facility over another, and AHIS has no relationship with the facilities listed. Distances are approximate, and the database may not reflect recent changes. Call ahead to confirm hours, insurance and that the facility’s certification is current.
4. Using campaign materials
You may download, share and print the campaign materials on the Site (including the social posts and suggested captions) for non-commercial awareness and education, provided that you:
- credit the source as “National Mammography Day, an initiative of the Alliance for Health Implementation Science (AHIS)” where practical;
- do not alter the campaign artwork, colors or typography;
- do not use the materials to advertise or promote any product or service, or in a way that suggests AHIS endorses you, your organization or any product; and
- do not use the materials in any way that is misleading, unlawful or harmful.
All other rights are reserved. For any other use, contact info@ahis.org.
5. Supporters
Organizations listed as supporters, such as the Memphis Area Cancer Consortium, support the campaign. Listing a supporter does not mean AHIS endorses that supporter’s products or services, or that the supporter endorses any product. Supporters do not review or approve campaign content, and AHIS keeps full editorial control.
6. What you submit
When you join the word cloud, you confirm that the name and place are your own and that you had a mammogram this year. Please don’t add other people without their permission, and don’t submit personal medical details. Your entry is published on the Site the way you chose; how we handle it is described in our Privacy Notice. We may hide or remove any entry at our discretion, including entries that look false or offensive.
7. Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse the Site — for example, by attempting to disrupt it, gain unauthorized access, submit spam, false or unlawful content, or impersonate another person or organization.
8. Links to other websites
The Site links to websites operated by others, including government agencies, screening programs, mapping services and supporters. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices.
9. No warranty
The Site and its materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AHIS and its directors, staff, volunteers and supporters will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its materials.
11. Changes
We may change the Site, its materials or these Terms at any time. The date at the top shows when these Terms last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ventura County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
